Why Support us?

At Swansea Carers Centre, we provide vital support to unpaid carers across Swansea. With over 24,000 unpaid carers in our community, many of whom prevent the need for health and social care interventions, your support can help us make a real difference.

As the Carers Trust puts it, “Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives.” By donating to Swansea Carers Centre, you can ensure that carers receive the support, advice, and information they need to live fulfilling lives alongside their caring responsibilities.

Trusts and Foundations

Grant-making organisations and charitable Trusts play a crucial role in helping us identify, recognise, and support carers in Swansea. We collaborate with various trusts, foundations, and grant makers to deliver impactful programmes, Such as the Carers Hwb, Dementia Project, Young Adult Carers etc

Carer A’s Journey with Dementia Support

Carer A: cares for his wife, who was recently diagnosed with dementia. New to both caregiving and dementia, he joined our Demystifying Dementia course to better understand his wife’s needs.Impact:

• Learned how to respond (and not respond) to his wife’s symptoms.

• Gained essential knowledge about support services and his rights as a carer.

• Met other carers and shared experiences for mutual support.

• Gained a deeper understanding of the mental health system and how to advocate for his wife’s needs.

Carer A’s Reflection:"The course was invaluable in helping me understand dementia, how to respond to my wife’s symptoms, and how to navigate the care system. I felt supported by the team every step of the way."
