Support for male carers
Many caring roles are still under‑represented in health and social care services — and male carers are one of the biggest groups missing out. Although studies show that around 42% of all carers are men, many don’t reach out for support or may not even realise they are carers. To change this, Swansea Carers Centre offers practical help, connection and advice, to male carers, in a way that feels comfortable, down‑to‑earth, and genuinely supportive.
What the Project Offers
We provide one‑to‑one support, group sessions and activities that help men:
-
Look after their own wellbeing
-
Learn new skills and coping strategies
-
Prevent carer crisis and burnout
You’ll have the chance to meet other men in similar situations — in a relaxed, non‑judgemental environment.
Examples of activities include - Saturday drop-ins, 'Meet & Eats', Fishing, Days Out.
Support that works for men of all ages:
Many men find themselves stepping into a caring role later in life. That can mean:
-
Taking on household tasks they may not have done before
-
Providing intimate or personal care for a partner or family member
-
Feeling unsure where to turn for advice or help
-
We offer straightforward, practical support to make daily life easier and to help you feel more confident in your caring role.
