WG Respite Grant is now reopen for new applications.
West Glamorgan Short Breaks Grant Scheme
Who can apply?
All unpaid adult carers living in Swansea
What can I apply for?
Unpaid adult carers can apply for funding to pay for an activity or a service that provides a short break from the caring role to the maximum value of £300 (subject to availability and internal audit – a request for £300 will not always result in a grant offer of £300)
Examples of this might include:
Day trips
Overnight stays
A sitting service
A pass for the gym or an exercise class
Well-being activities
The Short Break Grant Scheme is funded by public money and may be audited independently. Your application and any subsequent verification provided may be included and scrutinised as part of any audit process. Submitting false, inaccurate, or misleading information on an application form to obtain grant funding is unlawful, and we may decide to take criminal action if you knowingly give false information.
Eligibility
Available only to unpaid carers – you may be asked to verify your caring role
Due to this grant being in high demand:
· You can only apply once
· We will not accept multiple applications from the same household or multiple people involved in the care of the same person
The grant must be used for its requested purpose. Please keep receipts of purchase for 2 years in case requested as part of audit.
