Swansea Carers Centre have the pleasure to announce that the Young Adult Carers (YAC) team has secured funding from the COAST activity grant, provided by Swansea City Council, for £4,000 to deliver summer activities for YACs in the Swansea area. The activities to be delivered include:
- Swimming
- Assault Course
- Falconry
- Archery
- Paddle Boarding
We have made the necessary considerations to ensure that the activities provided are suitable for all abilities and are physically inclusive for all YACs.
These activities provide us with a prime opportunity to support YACs during the summer holidays where their normal support networks (i.e. educational institutions) are not available. Beyond engaging with YACs in a fun and informal manner, we will utilise this time to get to know the individuals identifying their priorities and asking “What is important to you?”. This will allow us to understand their needs and provide the appropriate support, advice and guidance.
