Dementia Week 2022

Dementia Week May 16th – 20th 2022.

Tuesday 17th May 12.30 pm-3 pm:  Drop-In meet up for Carers of people living with Dementia at the Arena Park, Oystermouth Rd Maritime Quarter, Bae Copr, Swansea SA1 3BX. If the weather is inclement, the group will move to the Arena coffee shop. Come and join Lucy Casey and Irene Mortimer. Irene will have her mobile with her at all times Tel: 07903671597


Tuesday 17th May  11am-3pm : Lucille Evans will be at the Dementia Hwb to discuss specialist support  from Swansea Carers Centre – Ongoing support for Carers and former Carers, Carers Assessments, Flexible respite, Well-being programmes, referrals to our Mental Health Service and Counselling, Welfare Benefits and grants assistance.


Wednesday 18th May 10 am-12pm, Venue: Swansea.com Stadium : Des Barnett, Dementia Worker and Male Carers Worker will be joint working with Elaine James (SCVS)  to launch a new ‘Forgetful Friends’ Group for Carers and people living with dementia. The group will run in partnership with Swansea City AFC.


Thursday 19th May 11am-3pm : Irene Mortimer will be at the Dementia Hwb to discuss specialist support  from Swansea Carers Centre – Ongoing support for Carers and former Carers, Carers Assessments, Flexible respite, Well-being programmes, referrals to our Mental Health Service and counselling, Welfare Benefits and grants assistance. 


Thursday 19th May 1.30-3pm : ‘Playlist for Life’ Party for Carers and people living with dementia at the Cwtsh Drop In. Steff Griffiths from ‘Playlist for Life’ will lead a musical therapy tea party.
